My Journey
Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, my employment has centered around serving children and adolescents locally. From working school festivals to tutoring to moving into the behavioral health field, I always knew this was the population I wanted to work with.
My education contains many phases. My undergraduate studies include an associate degree with an emphasis in psychology from Pima Community College and a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in adolescents, community, and education from the University of Arizona. My post-graduate schooling has all been through Capella University, a nationally recognized counseling educator. My masters of science is in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and my PhD of developmental psychology contains an emphasis on children and adolescents.
I have worked in both private and agency settings, which has given me an understanding of how the mental health systems work and an ability to advocate for my clients in a variety of settings, including schools and insurance.
Moving forward in my career, I would like to be able to continue learning and growing. I have never not been involved in an academic pursuit and plan to continue my professional education even past the completion of my PhD.
Forming Desert Rain Counseling and Consulting was a major step in my journey. I would like to be able to continue to serve the populations that I love and advocate for them by supporting and growing them in their ability to manage life’s stressors.
Tell me a little about you!
